We live in a country where our main source of transport is our
vehicles. We use them everyday; whether we’re dropping the children off
at school or making your way to and from the office your car is an
important part of your day.
Many South Africans also love using their cars for road trips, as our
country offers many wonderful scenic routes which the entire family can
enjoy. But using your car everyday and for long journeys requires you
to keep it well-maintained. To ensure the longevity of your car – and
the safety of your family – your car needs regular services and you
should definitely own car insurance. There are many cheap car insurance options available which will cover your problems extensively.
If an accident should occur, car insurance
insures that most expenses are covered by your insurance company.
Besides having car insurance we should also know how to take care of our
cars ourselves. Knowing how to change a tyre or what to do when your
car overheats while you’re on holiday can always be helpful. During road
trips in the hot summer month’s cars overheating are common and could
be quite dangerous and it’s important that you know what to do.
- If you think – for any reason – that your car is about to
overheat switch off your air conditioner and open your windows. This
decreases the load on the engine and helps it to cool off.
- If switching off the air conditioner and opening the
windows didn’t work, turn on the heater and blower. This transfers the
heat from the engine to the passenger compartment of the vehicle. This
might help your engine a lot, but please know it’s not going to make your hot summer day any easier.
- If you think your vehicle is about to boil over drive to
the right-hand side of the road, open the hood and stay there until your
car cools off. Never open the radiator cap under these circumstances
and if your engine cap has boiled over do not add water until the engine
is cool again. If you must add water when the engine is still a bit
hot, add it slowly while the engine is running in neutral or park.
- Hot summer days are the most common cause of cars
overheating, but many other factors can also cause this. If your car
overheats on a day when the weather is mild or even cold then the
problem might be the water and the coolant level in the radiator is low
or that there’s a leak in the cooling system.
- If your car’s thermostat isn’t working it’s of great
importance that you replace it at once. This ensures that you at least
have an indication of when your car might be in danger of overheating.

Car Specifications
I have been determined to eventually upgrade my vehicle as
it has been the only vehicle I have ever had. I have finally decided it is time
to upgrade and purchase a new vehicle and of course the latest in the market. I
don’t enjoy going to the dealerships as I find it too much of a hassle. I much
prefer surfing the web and getting all the data I need and desire, as it can
tell me similar to what any sales individual can. I was seeking for reviews and specs on exact vehicle brands and came over a website called CarMag. This
website told me everything I required to know about the cars I was interested
in. It provided me very good data on the following vehicles:
After studying all the assorted newest automotive vehicles,
my final decision was to purchase the Jeep, as I really like being outdoors and
taking part in 4x4 trails. So this automotive vehicle doubtlessly came largest
to fulfilling my wishes.

German Engineering At It's Best
German cars for me are superior in many ways as compared to any vehicle from any side of the planet. The shear beauty and power of vehicles and the craftsmanship is just the best! I actually found this great article on
carmag.co.za that pitched the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG against the Porsche Boxster S PDK. I have to say it made some good points about German engineering, just another great publication from Car Magazine.

Diesel Engine Trouble
I've been driving a diesel for many years now. The cash I save on fuel more than makes up for
any of the down sides in my opinion. Although lately I started noticing something which perturbed me
somewhat. For some unknown reason whenever I would change gears a cloud of black smoke would form
behind my car! How something like this would happen is beyond me, so I took to the internet to try and
get to the bottom of it. Luckily I stumbled across www.carmag.co.za on which I found this smokey-toyota-rav4-diesel article. It really put my mind at ease as a Toyota Rav4 is a reliable car. I have now taken it in for
the service it needs and can't wait to have my car back in good nick!

Make the right choices
It has to be said that in the times we 're living
in life insurance is an absolute necessity. I've been through it before with my folks and I don't
want my children to have to go through the same troubles because of a financial burden I place on them.
That's why I try to teach my children about the importance of being financial sound. Saving what and
when you can, being realistic about your hospital plan, car insurance and banking.I have realized
that after all it's my duty to ensure they are provided all the information they need to make the
right decisions in life.

Hyundai i20 1,4 GL
I like shopping around for cars and I'm always looking for the next best thing to buy. Although I'm
not looking in the top end of the market, I'm still concerned with getting the most I can for my money. At the moment I drive a Ford Fiesta, it's safe reliable and meets my needs, however after reading about the Hyundai i20 1,4 GL I'm beginning to reconsider. a six speed manual gearbox, revised nose, rear park assist and steering wheel controls are just a few of the adaptions as compared to the last model and I've got to say, I'm loving it! I'm just glad I found Carmag's website. Just nice to find one site with all the details you need all in one place.

New Renault Clio
The new Renault Clio is finally out! Checked it out at carmag.co.za and I couldn't be more excited
as I've been waiting to see this on the market for some time now.
It's right within my
price range and I have to say I'm loving the look and specifications of this
baby so far. Now that I've seen the turbocharged 900 cc three-cylinder petrol
engine and just the general look and feel I'm really impressed with what the
Renault team has done with this.
Even comparing to the Renault
Fluence 1,6 Authentique, Grand Scénic 1,6 dCi Dynamique, Renault Koleos 2,5
Dynamique 4x4 CVT and the Renault
Logan 1,6 Expression I'm still buying this, as soon as it hits SA shores!
